报告摘要:Tensor network states are new kinds of variational wavefunctions that help us to understand quantum phases and phase transitions beyond Landau paradigm. In this talk, I will first review the major development of tensor-network simulation in the past two decades. In particular, I will introduce the novel concept of long-range entanglement and entanglement renormalization. Then I will discuss the major break throughs made by tensor-network simulations in recent years. If time permits, I will also mention the relationship between deep learning and tensor network simulation.

报告人简介:顾正澄,香港中文大学终身教授,曾任美国加州大学圣芭芭拉分校Kavli理论物理研究所研究员、加拿大Perimeter研究所研究员、美国加州理工学院访问研究员,北京大学、清华大学、浙江大学访问学者。曾就读于清华大学和麻省理工大学,研究方向为理论物理、凝聚态物理、高能粒子物理等。
